Hi, I'm Rabbi Lapp, aka the Driving Rabbi. I'm a New York State certified driver education instructor, and I teach through the following school programs.

• Five Towns: Yeshiva Kol Torah Driver Ed Program

• Great Neck: Yeshiva of Great Neck Driver Ed Program

• Queens: Shevach High School Driver Ed Program

Program Benefits: Our curriculum is fully licensed by the NYS Department of Education and the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. 

Upon successful completion, students receive an MV-285 Student Certificate of Completion, which:

• Grants full, unrestricted senior driving privileges at age 17 (after passing the NYS road test).

• Qualifies students for automobile insurance discounts.

Key Requirements & Details:

• Eligibility: Students must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid NYS learner permit before the first driving session, valid through the final class.

• Attendance: State regulations require full attendance. Missed classes cannot be made up, and exceeding allowed absences will result in the loss of the MV-285 certificate.

• Scheduling: Programs run on separate schedules for boys and girls. Slots are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Outside Students: While enrolled students at host schools receive first priority, students from other schools may be accepted if seats remain available.

• Behind-the-Wheel: Instruction is given by licensed teachers in dual-controlled vehicles. 

• Students are expected to practice driving outside of class with a parent or guardian to complete the NYS DMV Certification of Supervised Driving (form MV-262).
